Never enter student names or identifying info (names, birthdates, ID numbers, school names, diagnoses tied to a person) here or in any AI tool. Use [Student]. How to run it
- Before the session, check that the student and a support person can see your screen and the AAC system.
- Model core words on a shared-screen activity and coach the support person to model too.
- Use expectant pauses, comment on any communication and expand by one word.
What to track
- Record spontaneous and modeled core-word use and the function, and note who modeled (you or the support person).
- Note any tech issues that affected the session.
Make it easier or harder
- Easier: Use one short, predictable on-screen routine and fewer words.
- Harder: Add two-word combinations, or have the student lead a turn in the game.
Home practice
Coach the support person to model one core word during a daily routine.
